After Michael R. Rouse was found guilty of 9 various fraud offenses involving Golden Gate Real Estate Trust, a judge ordered him to stay in the Metroplex area until sentencing. So, in what must have been a shocking development for someone who had cheated at least 62 people out of $1.9 million, a month later Rouse went on the lam. He got sentenced in absentia to 210 months in prison. Now, deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service nabbed Rouse in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Rouse, 56, may join convicted co-conspirator James A. Testa, 61, of Carrollton in spending their golden years in the federal pen. The two men used investors' money to pay themselves big salaries and pay for personal expenses, such as Mercedes Benz automobiles that cost more than $125,000 each.
